Biography
William D. Lay
William D. Lay is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin,
Madison (1974) and Columbia Law School (1992), where he
was a Senior Editor of the Columbia Law Review and a
Harlen Fiske Stone Scholar each of his three years of study.
Following graduation, Mr. Lay was a law clerk to the
Honorable Joseph W. Bellacosa, Associate Judge of the New
York Court of Appeals, Albany, New York.
Mr. Lay was subsequently associated with the firms of Fried,
Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson (1993-1998) and Skadden,
Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom (1998-2005), where he
specialized in serving corporate clients and litigation in state
and federal courts.
